Our unique adventure to Romania begins in Bucharest where the remnants of communism intertwine with the vibrance of modern life. This bustling capital city is known for its wide, tree-lined boulevards, beautiful parks and green spaces, vibrant nightlife, and impressive Bell Epoque architecture. By contrast, we’ll also see magnificent hilltop castles, palaces, and some of the best-preserved medieval villages on the continent. We’ll wind our way through the remote and bucolic Transylvania with its breathtaking natural beauty in every direction.

Romanians are a diverse, welcoming population, eager to share their culture. We’ll experience hidden cafes, indulge in regional cuisine, enjoy home-cooked meals in the homes of friends in tiny, far off villages, sample the wares of small local food producers, participate in craft workshops and demonstrations by traditional artisans, farmers, and shopkeepers throughout the countryside.
