Our Mission

  • To encourage curious women over fifty to pursue their dreams of travel by providing professionally guided small group tours for those of us who don’t wish to travel alone.

  • To create extraordinary itineraries for responsible travel to fascinating destinations led by friendly, flexible guides

  • To be steered by principles of kindness, tolerance and respect.

Our Travel Style

We take the time to get to know a few areas really well rather than try to take in everything a country, city or area may have to offer. We’re into the non-touristy, the off-beat and the culturally immersive.

We’re flexible and budget-conscious. We need nothing fancy. We’re happy with clean, comfortable, safe, quiet and, usually, our own rooms.

We’re adventurous, curious and open-minded. We’re eager to try new things and interact with local folks. We’ve been known to dabble in craft workshops, cook regional specialties, check out street art, museums, markets, and thrift shops.

Some of us like activities focused around specific themes (e.g., textiles, history, spirituality, architecture, etc.). Others prefer to simply check out the region as a whole.

Our Founder… Janet (aka JJ)

Let me just say that creating itineraries and organizing small group tours for older women is not what I expected to be doing “at this age” when most are slowing down. Yet here I am. Organizing small group tours for older women. And here you are, reading about them.

I'm a late-blooming traveler, an artist, a hospice volunteer, and writer. I’m friendly, warm and affectionate….and a textbook introvert. I live in a small village outside of Burlington, Vermont, am married, no kids but we do have one dog who defies understanding of any sort and one incorrigible young orange tabby cat.

For me, travel = freedom + adventure + surprises + affirms my faith in humanity + reminds me there is no such thing as “normal”.
