Our small group tour to India was the best trip I have ever taken.  It was a great combination of visiting craftspeople and artisans and learning how they make their beautiful pieces. We also took guided tours to mosques, temples, museums, palaces, a salt marsh at sunset, and a safari (where we actually saw a tiger!). Every day was a new adventure. Thanks, Janet! >> Mary K. — Kansas City, MO. USA

The Indian textile tour was beyond anything I could have imagined. I loved the people-to-people contact with villagers that I’d never experienced on any other “touristy” tour.

We had a superb tour manager who handled absolutely every situation. Our local guides were excellent, too. They knew their stuff and guided us through remote craft villages, diplomatically educated us about responsible tourism.

I absolutely loved this tour. What a great way to see the real India. I recommend this tour to other women with adventurous spirits and look forward to seeing other itineraries in different countries that Janet puts together. >> Kay M.S. — Macon, GA USA

In March, I took a textile tour in India that Janet organized. I was hesitant to join a tour, worried that it would be staid and cookie-cutter. Boy, was I wrong! This was the most distinctive and adventurous trip I have been on in a very long time. Being with a small group (10 women) allowed us to do things that we would never be able to do in a large group, or even on one’s own. Janet was able to organize unique activities for us in villages and craft collectives where tourists rarely go. These visits were magical. We met such wonderful people, heard their stories, drank their tea and shared meals, learned how they made their beautiful textiles and even tried our hands at their local crafts. Our guides were universally wonderful – knowledgeable, compassionate and fun. I am so glad I went on this trip and would sign up for another of Janet’s trips in a heartbeat. >> Rachel L. — San Francisco, CA USA

As loud, chaotic and crazy as India can be, this tour holds the qualities of a good cup of chai masala: warm, sweet and welcoming. We saw incredible mosques, temples, and ancient palaces. We visited acid attack survivors in Agra, saw the majestic tiger "Arrowhead" on safari in Ranthambore, walked barefoot on the salt flats in Gujarat, bought exquisite artisan goods, and gazed at the Milky Way while listening to distant cow bells. But what made this tour extraordinary and un-replicable was the hands-on exposure to centuries-old weaving, embroidery and fabric block printing techniques and the talented masters who continue to use them. Our tour guide Sakai, as well as the local guides, shared a love for India that was contagious. Thank you, Janet, for organizing this amazing, expanding, life-changing trip. Now, when can I go back? >> Elise S. — Minneapolis, MN USA

Janet's organizational skills, intuition and travel experience showed their full colors during the Moroccan tour that she organized. I'm still reliving the experience and miss my travel mates and the Moroccan people I met during our stops and stays. The food, accommodations, hosts, guides, and sights were above and beyond what I expected. Viewing the magnificent night sky in the Sahara Desert, experiencing a local market off the beaten path, and always feeling welcomed were my favorite highlights. Hats off to Janet. I will be going on another one of her small group tours again. >> Robyn S. — New Hampshire USA

Morocco was a magical trip and is one of my top lifetime journeys. Janet had the wonderful idea of a women- and textile-focused tour and brought it to fruition through Wandering Earl Tours. Derek was an amazing leader and guide. His laid-back, yet personal and attentive, style resonated with me. He shared his knowledge and delivered special experience upon special experience. His local guide and driver Ismail is equally exceptional and one of the best hosts I’ve experienced in 30+ years of travel. I feel such gratitude for experiencing Morocco in such a special way.  >> Ann Marie S. — Boston, MA USA

As a well-seasoned traveler on my first small group tour, I was really pleased with a recent trip to Morocco, organized by Janet Jaffe and led by Wandering Earl. It was a fantastic opportunity for a first-time visitor to a Muslim country to explore historic sites, stay in homey rhiads, tour the souks and enjoy excellent Moroccan food every day. We even spent a day with a Berber family in the Dades Valley /preparing lunch and having our hands painted with henna. I would do this trip again! Especially with Janet! >> Michele H. —Suffield, CT USA
