Have questions? We thought you might.

Here are some common Q&A:

  • Yes! Iraqis are amazingly friendly and welcoming to all visitors and tourism continues to grow, with more and more travelers arriving daily– only possible if safety is not a concern. The country is experiencing increased prosperity, and it's FAR more common to receive a free meal from a restaurant owner as a personal thank you than to experience a threat to personal safety.

Please know we would never organize a trip to any destination that might put Tribe members in any danger. That's definitely not how we operate!

  • You may be surprised to learn that Iraq is one of the most free and open-minded countries in the Middle East.

In short, men and women are allowed to do all the same things. Women do not need to cover up, you can wear regular western clothing, and you don't need to cover your hair. Women are free to go anywhere and everywhere and it's common to see groups of women out on their own in restaurants, cafes, shopping malls and beyond. During the trip, you’ll meet many local women, a great opportunities to interact and learn about the culture directly from them!

  • It's actually quite easy. Visas-on-arrival are issued at the airport in Baghdad for $77. There are many flights every day from Istanbul, Dubai and Europe. The logistics of getting to/from and into Iraq are remarkably simple.

  • We'll be staying in comfortable 3.5* and 4* hotels with hot water, air-conditioning, and all of the standard amenities. We'll get around the country in a luxury bus that has a bathroom onboard, a refrigerator and even a tea/coffee maker. The roads are great, meals are wonderful, facilities are always hygienic, sites are mind-blowing and, overall, it's not a physically challenging trip.

Our professional tour leader, with more than 20 years of experience, has led six groups to this fascinating destination in the past two years. Now, he’s organized two spectacular weeks for the Tribe, filled with ancient sites, amazing food, history of ancient civilizations, significant interaction with local women, and exploration of the cultural heritage melting pot this country has to offer. This trip to Iraq will challenge what you know about travel to unlikely destinations.
