  • Namaste. Welcome to India!

    After the wheels touch down at the Delhi Indira Gandhi Airport, you’ll be warmly greeted and comfortably transported to our hotel in Delhi. You will have time for rest and to begin gathering impressions of India’s capital city.

    In the evening, a welcome dinner will take place at a lovely restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere, where you’ll meet the other Tribe members and kick off the adventure with your first tastes of authentic Indian cuisine.

  • A Day in Delhi

    Our first full day in India starts with a thrilling rickshaw ride through the bustling markets of Old Delhi, where we’ll be engulfed in the vibrant sights, sounds, and scents of the city. We'll hand off our wheels mid morning and begin wandering the fascinating roadways of Delhi. Every street offers something unique! Chandni Chowk, the epicenter of the markets where the locals shop, stands line either side of a seemingly never ending road. We’ll spend some time wandering through Chandni Chowk and exploring the nearby streets and shops.

    We’ll indulge in a lavish lunch featuring a 10-course Indian feast at a beautifully renovated UNESCO heritage hotel – a gastronomic experience like no other!
    Our exploration continues at the serene Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, one of the most prominent Sikh temples and compounds in India. We will not only encounter Sikh pilgrims from around the country, but also thousands of others who come to pray and share a meal, regardless of religious beliefs. We'll be offered a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the massive communal kitchen where volunteers work together to prepare upwards of 30,000 meals each day to feed all who come to visit the temple, free of charge.  

    As evening falls, we will move to Dilli Haat to enjoy a craft market where local vendors bring handmade wares for your shopping delight. Dinner will be at an exquisite nearby restaurant before returning to the serenity of our hotel for a good night’s sleep.

  • Jaisalmer

    In the morning, we will take a short flight to the ancient city of Jaisalmer, nestled in the heart of the Thar Desert. Upon arrival, we’ll check into our hotel and take time to settle in and familiarize ourselves with the surrounding area.

    In the evening, we’ll wander through the winding lanes of the enchanting Jaisalmer Fort, exploring its charming shops and witness the preparation of fire pits for the upcoming Holi festival. The day will conclude with a delightful dinner at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel to dream of tomorrow’s festive Holi celebration!

  • Holi Celebration

    This is going to be an exhilarating day of festivities when we join the Holi celebration inside the majestic Jaisalmer Fort!

    Clad in white attire, we’ll set out to experience the spirit of unity and joy that Holi brings. Vibrant colors will fill the air, as we welcome spring, celebrate the end of winter, and honor the triumph of good over evil. We'll be swept up in the joyous atmosphere and partake in the playful tradition of throwing a rainbow of colors at one another. This experience is absolutely guaranteed to create everlasting memories. 

    Elated, we'll return to the hotel to freshen up from the colorful revelry and to grab some lunch. The remainder of the day will be time to unwind, reflect and rejuvenate at your own pace. Whether you choose to explore more of Jaisalmer's enchanting streets, relax at the hotel, or indulge in some shopping, this time is yours.

    In the evening, we’ll regroup again for a leisurely dinner.

  • Jaisalmer to Jodhpur

    Today we embark on a journey to Jodhpur, also known as the “Blue City.” Our journey of approximately 160 miles will traverse the picturesque landscape of Rajasthan and will be dotted both with breaks and a lunch stop at a nice restaurant. 

    Once in Jodhpur, you’ll have a chance to unwind after we check into our hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore the vibrant streets of this city with its azure-hued buildings, bustling markets, and rich cultural heritage.

    Tribe members will gather again in the evening to sample the delectable Rajasthani cuisine that Jodhpur is famous for, before retiring for the evening to the hotel.

  • Exploring Jodhpur

    Prepare to be wildly impressed during this morning’s visit to one of the largest forts in India, the Mehrangarh Fort. Expansive courtyards, intricate carvings, a captivating history and panoramic views of Jodphur below are some of the many highlights of this majestic, hilltop fort. 

    We’ll pop into a nearby restaurant for lunch, savoring the flavors of the local cuisine, followed by free time into the late afternoon when we’ll meet again for a delightful high tea. After our relaxing tea experience we’ll take a leisurely stroll around the old city, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere and admiring the charming architecture. Dinner will be at the hotel.

  • Narlai Village Exploration

    Today we’re bound for a 17th-century luxury heritage property in the Narlai Village. After checking into our hotel, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at the property's restaurant, followed by leisure time. This will be a great time to take advantage of the lovely amenities available, which include a full service spa and a beautiful pool.

    In the late afternoon, we'll take a stroll around Narlai Village, immersing ourselves in the rural charm and local culture.

    For this night’s dinner, we’ve planned an unforgettable surprise... prepare to be dazzled! We’re keeping the details of this excursion under lock and key, but we promise that you’ll be talking about this experience for years to come.

  • Relaxation Day in Narlai Village

    Today is a full day to unwind, rejuvenate, and soak in the tranquil ambiance of Narlai Village. Opportunities abound for Tribe members eager to take advantage of the hotel’s activities and amenities. Lounge by the pool, enjoy your book, take a leisurely walk through the village, or indulge in poolside snacks or a spa treatment. Additionally, you may sign up for a trek to the nearby Elephant Hill, where you can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding area or join a safari to witness leopards living in the outskirts of the village! 

    All meals will be enjoyed at our hotel today.

  • Udaipur

    After breakfast at our hotel, we'll begin our journey to Udaipur. The drive will take approximately 3 hours, offering many scenic views along the way.

    Upon arriving at our hotel in Udaipur, we'll freshen up before heading to the hotel's restaurant for lunch. After a delicious meal, we'll take time to rest and relax after our journey.

    In the late afternoon, we'll embark on a leisurely walk through the old town of Udaipur to immerse ourselves in the rich history and vibrant culture. Our first stop will be the iconic Jagdish Temple, one of the most sacred temples in Udaipur, known for its intricate architecture and deeply rooted spiritual significance.

    After soaking in the serene atmosphere of the temple, we'll stop at nearby restaurant for dinner, where we can indulge the complex flavors of the local cuisine and reflect on the day's experiences together.

  • Udaipur

    Prepare to be wowed by Udaipur City Palace! Situated on the eastern banks of Lake Pichola, the City Palace is an architectural marvel, built over almost 400 years, with contributions from several rulers of the Mewar dynasty. It was built with a flamboyant style and is considered the largest of its unique type in Rajasthan. We will spend the morning exploring the palaces within the complex, winding our way through their interlinked zigzag corridors, which were originally laid out in this fashion to avoid surprise attacks by enemies. 

    After fun in the architectural maze, we’ll go to a local restaurant for lunch before returning to our hotel for a couple of hours of free time.

    In the late afternoon, we’re invited to visit a local family's home for a lesson in cooking authentic Indian food. This hands-on experience will not only teach us the secrets of traditional Indian cuisine but also offer a glimpse into the daily life and hospitality of an Indian family. After cooking , we'll dine on the delicious meal we've prepared together before returning to our hotel for the night.

  • Leisure Time & Animal Welfare Visit

    The morning is yours to enjoy as you wish. Guests may join a complimentary walking tour of Udaipur's old town to admire the historic buildings, hear fascinating stories of the past, and observe daily life. 

    Lunch will be at our hotel.

    After lunch, we'll visit Animal Aid Unlimited. Founded in 2002, Animal Aid Unlimited is a rescue organization dedicated to saving and treating the sick, injured or in-need street animals of Udaipur. This remarkable team provides comprehensive medical care, shelter, and rehabilitation to thousands of animals each year. 

    In the evening, we’ll share stories of our day over dinner at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel for the night.

  • Lake Pichola and Jaipur

    After breakfast we’ll delight in a boat ride across Lake Pichola! Gliding over serene waters, we’ll take in Udaipur from a unique perspective and witness stunning views of the City Palace, the lush Aravalli Hills, picturesque ghats, and the heritage buildings along the banks of the lake. 

    Leaving Udaipur in the late afternoon, we'll take a quick flight to Jaipur. Dinner will be at the airport before we arrive in Jaipur around 8PM. We’ll check into our hotel and settle in for the evening.

  • City Palace & Shopping in Jaipur

    Located deep within the walled city, the Jaipur City Palace Complex was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the city’s founder. The complex includes a museum, many gardens and courtyards, and the famous Peacock Gate - a testament to the craftsmanship of the era. A beautiful fusion of Mughal and Rajasthani architecture, the palace is still home to the last ruling royal family living in a private area.

    Jaipur is a shopper’s paradise and home to a collection of markets that sell everything from jewelry and textiles to marble statues and rugs. Known for its exquisite gems, it’s the perfect place to pick up a special souvenir. After the City Palace visit, we’re off to the nearby bazaar to explore the vibrant markets before popping into a local restaurant for lunch. 

    This afternoon is all about Bollywood!  We’ll gain insight into India’s colorful and wildly popular film industry and learn some lively Bollywood dance moves, followed by dinner.

    In the evening, there will be an opportunity to receive authentic Henna tattoos from a local artist. The practice of staining the skin with these plant-based dyes is an age-old tradition in India and women typically adorn themselves with these ornate designs as a notable part of many festivities. The process requires about 15-20 minutes of creation, an hour to dry and last for a week or two before they slowly wear off.

  • Journey to Agra & Sunset at Taj Mahal

    We’ll begin our journey to Agra, home of the Taj Mahal. The travel will take approximately 5 hours and will be punctuated with rest stops, as well as an opportunity to explore the world's largest stepwell, Chand Baori. One of the oldest and most astonishing stepwells in Rajasthan, Chand Baori features 3,500 narrow steps descending over 13 stories and is famous for its geometric precision and amazingly intricate design.

    We’ll welcome another break and stop for lunch at a charming restaurant before continuing on to Agra and head straight to the shores of the Yamuna River across from the Taj Mahal. From our vantage point across the water, we’ll witness the breathtaking scene of the setting sun casting a golden glow over the white marble facade.

    Following this magical experience, we'll check in to our Agra homestay, and take time to relax and organize for the trip home the following day. In the evening, we’ll sit down for our final meal together to reflect on the incredible sights, tastes and experiences we’ve shared together.

  • Sunrise at the Taj Mahal and Departure

    On our final day of this unforgettable journey, we'll rise early for a undeniably magical experience - sunrise over the Taj Mahal. This moment of pure serenity will be a fitting finale to our journey together through India's rich culture.

    After the breathtaking sunrise, we'll go back to our hotel to enjoy a hearty breakfast to fuel up for the day ahead. Following breakfast, there’ll we'll have time to relax and rejuvenate, before we begin our journey to Delhi. Along the way, we'll make a stop at a marble making factory, where we’ll gain insights into the intricate craftsmanship involved in creating the iconic Taj Mahal. Witnessing the artisans at work, practicing techniques passed down through generations is sure to add layers of appreciation for this architectural wonder.

    After the marble making factory, we'll stop for lunch, giving us a one final opportunity to savor the flavors of India together. 

    As we bid farewell to India, we will recognize that we are taking home a rich tapestry of shared experiences, the warmth of the Indian people, and the memories of our time spent in the timeless beauty of this country's landscapes and landmarks. 

    With hearts full of everlasting memories, we will depart from the Delhi Airport. We strongly recommend booking flights departing after 10 PM to allow ample time for travel and airport procedures.

Each of the 12 spots available on this trip is for a single room in every location with private, ensuite bathrooms. 13 nights will be spent at charming hotels and 1 night at an exquisite homestay in Agra. Physical Demands: Moderate 

While this isn’t a rigorous trip and plenty of relaxation time is incorporated into the itinerary, please understand that participants must be in good health to join us. This trip may involve walking tours for up to 3 hours, walking on uneven or unpaved surfaces with some slight inclines, somewhat long days with multiple activities each day, being outdoors in warm temperatures, and early morning wake-ups.
