If you decide to extend your stay in Greece, we will travel to the superb setting of Mycenae, one of the most evocative archaeological sites of the world – part of the Unesco World Heritage List – and taste the exceptional Nemea – Agiorgitiko wine which is adorned by myths. This place and the wines from this place are as ancient as any in the world, perhaps more so and yes…this is indeed the land of Hercules. We furthermore visit Nafplion, the first capital of Greece and one of the most elegant and romantic cities in the country currently. The beautiful old city has a wealth of narrow alleyways and a lovely seafront promenade but the best is perhaps just watching the sun coloring the bay an ecstatic red. We will have a seafood cooking class in one of the seafront restaurants of Nafplion.

Ancient Epidaurus

After breakfast, the road will lead us to the ancient theater of Epidaurus, a one-of-a-kind archaeological site famous for its symmetry and incredible acoustics. After visiting a Mycenaean bridge dating back to the 13th century BC, we will drive to Tolo and have a surprising lunch by the sea. We will spend our afternoon relaxing or swimming in a nearby beach of Nafplion before our dinner.

Sparta, Areopoli, Diros Caves, Monemvasia

After checking out we will drive to Sparta to visit the monument of King Leonidas and learn about all the aspects of daily life in Sparta. We will then reach Mani and have lunch in Areopoli, the city of Ares, before we enter the Caves of Diros. Their beautiful shapes formed by the stalactites and stalagmites make a fantastic spectacle as you travel a subterranean river length of 1,600 m. Our final destination for today is Monemvasia, an exceptionally well-preserved medieval castle well hidden from the land. The unique ambiance of the castle offers the visitor a journey back in time, a benchmark for his traveling experience.

Ancient Corinth

On our way back to Athens we will touch the unfolding beauty of Ancient Corinth, surrounded by fertile plains and blessed with natural springs and then we will reach Loutraki, the oldest bath city in Greece dating back to antiquity and the favorite city of the Gods, where we will enjoy a seafood lunch. We will then check in at the same hotel near the airport for easier access the next morning.
